MAN JAILED FOR STRANGULATION AND ASSAULT OF WOMAN
A 26-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds has received a prison sentence after being convicted of actual bodily harm and deliberate strangulation.Zacheriah Howard, residing on St Stephens Close in Bury St Edmunds, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday, 5 May, where he was sentenced to four years in prison.
Prior to sentencing, Howard admitted to three counts of intentional strangulation and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm during an earlier hearing.
However, he denied the allegation of controlling and coercive behaviour, which was subsequently not pursued and was left on file.
The criminal acts were directed against a single woman.
