IPSWICH TEENS ADMIT VIOLENT ASSAULT AND HUMILIATION OF 16-YEAR-OLD
Two Suffolk teenagers who assaulted and humiliated a 16-year-old boy posted a video of the incident on social media, a court has heard.During the incident the victim was thrown against a wall, put in a bath and hit with a rolling pin and had a sex toy forced into his mouth, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Footage of the video, which was posted on Snapchat, was played to a judge at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.
Juliet Donovan, prosecuting, said the attack took place at a flat in the presence of other youths who hadn’t been prosecuted.
She said a video of the incident was put on Snapchat to “deliberately humiliate” the victim who was accused of owing money to one of his attackers.
Before the court were Jake Coe, 19, of Lanercost Way, Ipswich, and Leon Riley, 19, of Lyminster Close, Bury St Edmunds, who admitted assaulting the victim causing him actual bodily harm in August 2023.
Both defendants were 17 at the time of the attack.
The court heard that Riley, who was described as playing a leading role in the attack, had 48 previous convictions, including offences of robbery, possession of drugs and violence.
The court heard that Coe has no previous convictions.
Judge Martyn Levett adjourned sentence on both defendants until Friday.
