MAN JAILED AFTER ASSAULTING PARTNER AND ANOTHER WOMAN
A man who assaulted his partner in a Derby street and then attacked a bystander who tried to intervene has been sentenced to prison.
On 13 December, Sacha Millar was involved in an argument with his partner along Victoria Street.
Witnesses walking by observed the altercation, noting that Millar was physically assaulting his partner, striking her face and body, and physically dragging her.
When one passer-by approached to stop the incident, Millar responded by punching her in the face, which rendered her unconscious and resulted in a broken jaw.
After the assault, Millar left the scene and went to a hotel on Full Street where he and his partner were staying for the night.
He soon departed from the hotel.
Authorities were alerted, and investigations led to his arrest four days later at his home in Suffolk.
The 34-year-old, residing at Oakes Close, Bury St Edmunds, was charged with assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
He acknowledged the charges and appeared at Cambridge Crown Court for sentencing on 13 February, receiving a prison term of two years and ten months, which also covered two additional assaults from August 2024.
