WOJCIEH KARENKO SENTENCED TO INDEFINITE JAIL FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN WALTHAMSTOW

In a case that has shocked the community of Walthamstow, Wojcieh Karenko, aged 41, has been sentenced to an indefinite prison term after being found guilty of a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a teenage girl. The crimes, which spanned several years, involved repeated acts of rape, the filming of the abuse on his mobile phone, and other disturbing behaviors that have left a lasting impact on the victim.

Karenko, who resides on Blackhorse Road in Walthamstow, was convicted last month of multiple charges, including the repeated rape of the girl, who was just 12 years old when the abuse began. The court heard that the abuse continued until she was nearly 17, with Karenko taking advantage of her vulnerability over a prolonged period. During the sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Judge Wilkinson delivered a stern judgment, condemning Karenko’s actions and emphasizing the severity of his misconduct.

Judge Wilkinson stated, “All this girl got from you was systematic and persistent abuse over a long period. You destroyed the latter part of her childhood. When she was still 15, you made her pregnant, and at the age of 16, she bore your child.” The judge highlighted that although Karenko did not resort to physical violence, his victim was kept in a state of fear and humiliation. The court also revealed that Karenko had taken lewd photographs of the girl, further degrading her dignity.

The sentence handed down means that Karenko will remain incarcerated until authorities determine he is no longer a danger to the public. He will not be eligible for parole or release for at least seven years and 166 days. Judge Wilkinson also pointed out disturbing evidence of Karenko’s behavior beyond the primary case, referencing an indecent photo of an unidentified schoolgirl that suggested his conduct was “developing in other unwholesome directions.”

He expressed concern over the scale and duration of the offenses, concluding that Karenko poses a significant risk of causing serious harm to others. The court noted that Karenko had shown no remorse for his actions and had repeatedly attempted to shift blame onto others, demonstrating a lack of accountability.

As part of his sentence, Karenko was banned from working with children and from possessing any device capable of recording images, such as a camcorder or camera, including mobile phones unless it was impossible to have one without a camera. The conviction includes 22 charges, encompassing rape, sexual activity with a child under 16, and making indecent images of a child, all committed between 2004 and 2009. Furthermore, Karenko will remain on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct.
