EAST LONDON PREDATOR OFFERED WOMAN £20 TO SLEEP WITH HIM AFTER TUBE SEX ATTACK
A predator who offered a woman £20 after sexually assaulting her on the Tube has been jailed.Stanislaw Pozniecki, 49, attacked the sleeping 25-year-old on a southbound Jubilee line train shortly before midnight on January 2, 2022.
He initially sat opposite her but moved to the adjacent seat when his attempts to rouse her failed.
The victim awoke to the assault, at which point Pozniecki attempted to give her cash in exchange for sleeping with him.
Upon arrival at Wembley Park station, she managed to escape the ordeal and moved to sit on a platform bench.
Pozniecki then approached her again before a member of rail staff noticed his strange behaviour and asked him to move away.
Once alone, the woman disclosed assault, prompting an urgent call to the British Transport Police (BTP).
The sex offender was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty to one count of assault by penetration.
Pozniecki, of Billet Road in Walthamstow, was sentenced to four years and nine months behind bars at Southwark Crown Court on January 29.
He was also given a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
The SHPO prohibits him from approaching, touching, staring, sitting next to, or making any attempts to communicate with lone women on the rail network in the UK.
BTP Detective Constable Jamie Saunders said: "Pozniecki sought out and assaulted a lone woman who was simply travelling home.
His abhorrent actions were predatory, and I am pleased to see him handed this jail term.
"It is thanks to the courage and support of the victim that we have been able to bring him before the courts and put him behind bars for years to come.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the member of rail staff who spotted something suspicious, immediately intervened, and called the police.
'If you experience or witness a sexual offence on-board a train or at a station, I urge you to report it to us by texting 61016.
We take every report seriously and will stop at nothing to bring sexual offenders like Pozniecki to justice."
