WOJCIECH BURYLO FROM CRAWLEY SENTENCED FOR DECADE OF ABUSE AND VIOLENCE

Wojciech Burylo, a man residing on Calvin Walk in the Bewbush area near Crawley, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a series of heinous crimes spanning over ten years. His actions included relentless sexual assault, physical violence, and threats of murder directed at a woman who endured his controlling and obsessive behavior for more than a decade.

Throughout the period from 2014 to 2024, Burylo subjected his victim to a campaign of intimidation and abuse. He would call her over 40 times daily, often demanding to know her whereabouts and issuing threats of extreme violence, including decapitation. His behavior was characterized by a disturbing pattern of psychological manipulation and physical intimidation, which left the victim in a state of constant fear and distress.

On Monday, Burylo, aged 50, was convicted of three counts of rape, three counts of making threats to kill, and one count of battery. The verdict was delivered at Lewes Crown Court, where the court heard detailed accounts of his relentless control over the victim’s life. Judge Roger Chapple commended the victim for her bravery and resilience in coming forward to disclose the abuse, describing her as
