OLD PORTADOWN MAN IMPRISONED FOR DECADES-LONG CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
William Boyle, an 88-year-old man, has been convicted and sentenced to a seven-and-a-half year custodial term for sexually abusing his daughter.
The victim, now aged 51, spoke out publicly, stating that her father 'denied me of a birthday - he raped me on my 18th Birthday.' The case was prosecuted following allegations involving her and her sibling, with the court hearing that the abuse had occurred over many years.
Ms Boyle highlighted the importance of survivors breaking their silence and seeking justice, noting that 'I speak out for survivors.
Break your silence, let them know no matter how long, whether it be historic abuse, whether it be abuse that is happening now, whether it be coercive control, they all go hand in hand.' The conviction came after police investigations, and her father, William Boyle, was handed a custodial sentence for his crimes.
