WALLSEND MAN WAYNE JUSTICE JAILED FOR BREACH OF RESTRAINING ORDER AND STALKING
A North Tyneside man who was jailed for stalking a woman contacted the victim on the same day he was released from prison.
Wayne Justice, aged 44, was sentenced to four months in September 2023 after being convicted of two stalking offenses against the same woman. The court heard that Justice, living in Beal Gardens, Wallsend, was made the subject of an indefinite restraining order.
Despite this, Recorder James Wood KC stated: "You were released on licence on November 9, 2023, and on that day you breached the restraining order." He added, "You sent two Facebook messages to her, which you then deleted, and the next day you sent her a Snapchat friend request."The victim contacted the police, stating that Justice's contact was "causing me severe stress and anxiety".
She explained she had previously pursued the investigation in the hope of a positive outcome.
The court was told that days later, on November 15, 2023, Justice messaged her again on Facebook using an account named "Wayne's Way".Further court proceedings revealed that Justice called the victim multiple times from an unknown number.
She recognized his voice during a call, and stated in a police statement, "Wayne does not care about a restraining order" and "I do not feel safe".
Justice was also jailed earlier in April for an offence related to this victim, after breaching the restraining order, and he pleaded guilty to four counts of this breach, receiving an additional 16 months in prison to run consecutively. The court expressed concern that the restraining order had failed to deter Justice, noting his continued contact and behavior indicating he "seems to be able to do whatever he wants".
