WADE KING SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND WEAPON POSSESSION IN PORTSMOUTH

A 20-year-old man, Wade Terry King, has been sentenced to a total of seven and a half years in prison following serious criminal charges in Portsmouth.

King, who was without a fixed address within the city at the time of his arrest, was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl at a residence on Foster Road on Saturday, 12 March 2022.

The case took a significant turn when King failed to appear for his trial scheduled in November 2023.

Despite his absence, the court proceeded with the case in his absence, and he was subsequently found guilty of the heinous crime.

On Thursday, 15 February, at Portsmouth Crown Court, King was handed a sentence of seven years imprisonment for the rape conviction.

Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life, a measure aimed at monitoring and managing his potential risk to the community.

The court also addressed another offense committed by King in June 2023, when he was found in possession of an offensive weapon.

For this violation, he received an additional six months imprisonment.

The combination of these sentences underscores the severity of his actions and the justice served in this case.
