SWANSEA MAN SENTENCED FOR SADISTIC DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THREATS
A man identified as Vincent Brownson, aged 46, of Hill Street, Mount Pleasant, Swansea, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of violent and abusive acts against his former partner.The court heard Brownson, described as a 'sadistic bully,' had previously pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and suffocation.
The incident included multiple assaults; one involved Brownson throwing a shoe at his partner, causing a healed rib fracture, while another involved him placing a pillow over her face and repeatedly punching her.
In a further disturbing pattern, Brownson told his partner it would only take him four and a half minutes to kill her and her daughters, planning to slit their throats first to make her 'suffer' before killing her himself.
During sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, Judge Geraint Walters described Brownson's behavior as one of the most disturbing cases of domestic violence he had encountered, and convicted him to 30 months in prison.
A lifelong restraining order was also issued banning him from contacting his ex-partner.
The court emphasized that Brownson's violence was part of a broader pattern of emotional and physical abuse, including controlling behaviors and threats.
In court, his previous convictions for common assault related to the same partner and motoring matters were acknowledged.
The court noted Brownson's alcohol dependency and his recognition of his actions as 'appalling'.
