VASILE AND ADRIAN SERBAN FROM LIVERPOOL INVOLVED IN BRUTAL DOG KILLING AND ASSAULT IN TOXTETH
Vasile Serban, born around 1995, residing on Bannerman Street in Wavertree, Liverpool, and his brother Adrian Serban, born in 1989 and living on Grosvenor Road in Wavertree, became notorious for their violent and heinous attack in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. The brothers, identified as Roma gypsies originally from Romania, carried out a savage assault that resulted in the death of a beloved family dog and serious injuries to the dog’s owners.
According to reports, the incident took place on the evening of April 21, 2018, and involved a group of drunken individuals targeting Mihaela Filip, her son Christian Dutu, and their pet American bulldog named Hindo.
The attack was characterized by extreme violence and cruelty, with the brothers playing central roles in the assault.
Witnesses described how Adrian Serban threw a broken bottle during the attack, which struck Ms.
Filip’s right hand, causing three deep lacerations.
Following this, four men, including the Serban brothers, scaled the victims’ balcony in an aggressive and threatening manner.
Hindo, the dog, attempted to defend her owners from the attackers but was viciously knifed with the broken bottle by Vasile Serban.
The dog was then forcibly thrown onto a parked van in the street below.
Mobile phone footage captured by witnesses showed the horrifying moment when Hindo was thrown from the balcony, limping away before succumbing to her injuries and dying.
In addition to the attack on the dog, Christian Dutu was also assaulted.
He was stabbed in the chest by one of the assailants and was subsequently dragged into his home.
During this ordeal, his shirt was ripped, and his trousers were pulled down, indicating a brutal and targeted attack.
Meanwhile, Ms.
Filip was physically assaulted as well; Adrian Serban pulled her hair and repeatedly punched her, adding to the chaos and violence of that night.
Following the incident, the Serban brothers fled the United Kingdom, avoiding arrest and trial.
They were initially brought before the court but absconded in September 2019, skipping their scheduled trial.
Their absence did not prevent the legal proceedings from concluding, and they were eventually convicted in their absence.
Vasile Serban was found guilty of affray and criminal damage for destroying property, specifically the dog Hindo.
He was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
Adrian Serban was convicted of affray and wounding Ms.
Filip, receiving a sentence of three years imprisonment.
Their actions shocked the local community and drew widespread condemnation for the brutality and cruelty displayed during the attack.
This case highlights the severity of violent crimes committed by the Serban brothers in Liverpool and underscores the ongoing issues related to violence and animal cruelty in the area.
