MANCHESTER MAN JAILED FOR RAPING SCHOOLGIRL IN WELSH TOWN

A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to ten years in prison after being convicted of raping a schoolgirl in Rhos-on-Sea.

Ursaloan Ansari, of Birch Road, Manchester, was found guilty by a jury at Mold Crown Court last month despite denying the crime.

The court heard that Ansari drugged his victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, before assaulting her at a house in Rhos-on-Sea in January 2022.

On Monday, August 4, he was sentenced to ten years in prison and was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

Additionally, he received a 10-year restraining order to protect the victim.

Ansari was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will remain in effect indefinitely.

Detective Constable Gavin Jones of North Wales Police stated, "This was an incredibly difficult case and I commend the bravery and strength of the victim throughout the investigation and trial process.

Her willingness to speak out has ensured that justice has been served, and I hope today's result provides some measure of closure for her and her family." He encouraged any victims of sexual abuse to come forward, emphasizing that the police will listen, support, and seek justice.

North Wales Police highlighted their commitment to thoroughly investigating all reports of sexual abuse, regardless of when they occurred, and urged past victims to seek help.
