HEMEL HEMPSTEAD MAN TYRONE HARBOUR SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON BABY IN BANBURY
In a disturbing case that shocked the community of Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas, Tyrone Harbour, a 24-year-old resident of Windmill Road in Hemel Hempstead, was convicted of a violent assault that left a 14-week-old infant with severe injuries.The incident occurred in Banbury on the 16th of November, 2015, and has since resulted in Harbour receiving a substantial prison sentence.
According to police reports, the young baby suffered multiple bruises and a fractured arm as a direct consequence of Harbour's assault.
The severity of the injuries was such that the child required immediate medical attention, and the case drew significant media attention due to the heinous nature of the crime.
Harbour was brought before Oxford Crown Court, where he was found guilty of two serious charges: grievous bodily harm with intent (GBH) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).
The verdict was delivered unanimously by the jury on August 25, following a trial that scrutinized Harbour’s actions and the extent of the injuries inflicted.
On Tuesday, Harbour was sentenced to eight years in prison, a decision that underscores the gravity of his offense.
During the sentencing, Detective Constable Steven Gilks commented on Harbour’s attitude, stating that Harbour had refused to accept any responsibility for his actions.
Gilks further expressed concern about Harbour’s potential threat to the public, emphasizing the seriousness of the case.
In a statement, Det Con Gilks remarked, “Only he knows the reason why he assaulted a 14-week-old baby,” highlighting the inexplicable and tragic nature of the assault.
The case has left the community in shock, raising questions about the circumstances that led to such a violent act against a vulnerable infant in Hemel Hempstead and Banbury.
