HEMEL HEMPSTEAD RAPIST SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR BRUTAL SEXUAL OFFENCES
A convict described as a dangerous rapist from Hemel Hempstead has been given an 18-year prison term after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences, which included two counts of rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault causing actual bodily harm.The sentence was handed down at Luton Crown Court on March 22, a Friday, following his conviction.
The crimes occurred over a period from October 2020 to December 2021 and involved a single female victim.
Manning, residing on Spring Lane, received a 15-year sentence for one of the rape charges, an additional sentence of six and a half years for another count of rape, three years for controlling and coercive behaviour, and three years for ABH, with all terms to be served at the same time.
He also faced a separate three-year sentence for an assault committed in September 2018 against a male victim, which was to run consecutively, ultimately totaling 18 years.
Manning will be on the sex offenders register for life and is subject to a restraining order preventing him from contacting his victims.
During the court proceedings, DC Tilly Andrews spoke about the victim’s bravery, saying, “The victim has shown extraordinary strength and courage through this process.
Victims of sexual assault should know it’s not their fault, and we urge anyone affected to report such crimes.” The injuries sustained by the victim required hospital treatment, and police reiterated their commitment to supporting victims.
They also described Manning as “a serious threat to the community,” encouraging members of the public to report crimes online, via web chat, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
The sentencing reflects Manning’s ongoing danger and emphasizes the need to safeguard the public and support those impacted by his actions.
