TREVOR SMITH CAUGHT NAKED ON ST HELENS BALCONY PERFORMING LEWD ACTS IN FRONT OF TEENAGERS
In a disturbing incident that has once again brought Trevor Smith into the spotlight, the resident of St Helens was found engaging in highly inappropriate behavior on his own balcony, exposing himself while leering at a group of teenagers passing by.The events unfolded on the evening of March 18, when a neighbor, witnessing the shocking scene, immediately contacted the police, overwhelmed by the sight of Smith's conduct.
According to reports presented at Liverpool Crown Court, the neighbor, who resides in an adjacent apartment, noticed a commotion outside around 9:50 pm.
Peering out her window, she observed a group of approximately nine teenagers, both male and female, walking along the street below.
During this time, she saw Trevor Smith, 50 years old, with his hand resting on the window ledge of his balcony, leaning over and looking down at the ground.
As she continued to watch, the neighbor saw Smith step back from the balcony, revealing that he was completely naked, with his boxer shorts pulled down to his knees.
It was at this moment that she believed he was performing a sexual act on himself, an act that left her feeling physically sick and compelled to call the authorities immediately.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and found Smith in a state of evident distress.
He was dressed only in a towel, appeared to be sweating profusely, and was out of breath.
During the investigation, it was revealed that pornography was playing on his mobile phone, which he had with him at the time.
Trevor Smith, of Hall Street, St Helens, was taken into custody and subsequently admitted to several charges, including possession of cannabis, exposure, and breaching a previously suspended sentence order.
The court heard that Smith had a prior conviction from two years earlier, when he was caught at a railway station near Lancashire attempting to thrust his hips towards a plastic traffic cone while his trousers and underpants were pulled down.
For that offense, he received a 26-week jail sentence, suspended for two years.
In the latest case, the judge sentenced Smith to 10 months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for a period of ten years, reflecting the seriousness of his actions and the need for ongoing monitoring.
The court's decision underscores the gravity of public indecency and the importance of safeguarding community members, especially minors, from such disturbing behavior.
