SERIAL PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

A serial sex offender from St Helens was sentenced in court today, Thursday 18 December, following his admission of guilt to multiple child sexual offences.

Melvin Miller, who does not have a fixed address but was previously residing in Somerset, received an 11-year and four-month prison term at Liverpool Crown Court.

In addition to his custodial sentence, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

In August, authorities charged the 50-year-old Miller with five counts of historic rape involving a girl under the age of 13.

He later admitted to these charges in court.
