LOUGHTON OFFENDER PLEADS GUILTY TO OVER 600 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A registered sex offender has pleaded guilty to 15 offences after more than 600 indecent images were found on his devices, including of a child less than a year old.Trevor Pearce, 63, was in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and is now awaiting his sentencing.
Pearce pleaded guilty to more than a dozen charges after officers monitoring registered sex offenders in Essex made the discovery.
Previously convicted of three counts of making indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing prohibited images of children in September 2021, Pearce continued offending.
After his conviction in 2021, he was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years, and given a nine-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He was placed on the sex offender’s register for 10 years and is subject to the Sex Offender Notification Requirements.
As part of his conditions, regular visits to Pearce’s address were made by police officers, where he was required to allow officers to access his phone and any devices in his possession.
Over the course of these visits, two mobile devices were checked and child abuse images were found.
More than 600 images and videos were found either on the phones or in cloud storage associated with Pearce.
As officers investigated further, other prohibited phones and tablets were seized in a warrant in February 2025 at Pearce’s address.
It was discovered that Pearce had undeclared storage devices, was deleting his browsing history, and failing to disclose his use of specific mobile applications – all of which were breaches of his SHPO.
The youngest victim in the materials is believed to be less than a year old.
Police also found upskirting images relating to offences in Loughton.
On 3 September at Chelmsford Crown Court, 63-year-old Pearce pleaded guilty to 12 counts of making an indecent image of children, one count of possessing extreme pornographic images, one count of recording an image under clothing to observe another without their consent, and one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on October 3.
