MAIL JAILED FOR LIFE FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE OFFENCES
A man previously sentenced to 14 years for child sexual abuse has been given a life sentence after pleading guilty to a further 67 charges.Trevor Fernandes, age 41 from Swindon, was originally jailed in 2022 for grooming and blackmailing a girl in the US into self-harm and coercing another child.
He was detained by the National Crime Agency in 2020 following a report by a 13-year-old girl in Garland, Texas, about her abuse.
The girl explained that she had been communicating online with an individual named ‘Trevor’ for months, who compelled her to send him sexually explicit images.
His requests became more severe over time, and he eventually demanded she record herself abusing another child, which he then wanted her to send him.
He also threatened to share her images and videos with her friends and family if she did not comply.
Fernandes was arrested at his home in Swindon on December 6, 2020.
Authorities seized several electronic devices, including a mobile phone that appeared encrypted.
Forensic examination recovered images of the girl and showed evidence of communication via an app he used.
Additional online accounts were found under usernames like ‘cuteandstrict,’ ‘cutestrictsadist,’ ‘Reckitt03,’ and ‘TcTrevor.’ He faced 16 charges, including inciting a child to perform sexual acts and creating indecent images.
After a trial at Swindon Crown Court in May 2022, Fernandes was convicted on all counts.
In August 2022, he was sentenced to 14 years, plus a five-year extended license, accompanied by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and indefinite registration as a sex offender.
Further analysis of the devices revealed more evidence against him, involving additional victims.
A comprehensive investigation, including interviews with victims both domestically and internationally, led to Fernandes being charged in September 2025 with 67 more offences.
These included blackmail, encouraging sexual activity with a minor, malicious communications, causing a child to view a sexual act, and creating and sharing indecent images of children.
He pleaded guilty to these accusations in November 2025, and today, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 13 years and eight months to be served.
