SWINDON MAN ADMITS RAPE OF TEEN BUT DENIES OTHER CHARGES
A young man from Swindon has pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, but denies the five other charges made against him.Ellis Crosbee, of North Swindon, appeared in Swindon Crown Court on Friday, March 13, via a video link from HMP Bullingdon, after having been charged with five counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
Appearing before Judge Townsend, the 20-year-old man admitted to two of the rape offences, which had taken place on March 17, 2023.
However, he has denied the other three rape charges against him, which are all alleged to have taken place on the same day against the same victim.
He has also denied both sexual assault charges against him.
The prosecution will now meet to decide whether or not they accept Crosbee's pleas or whether a trial is necessary.
Assuming the pleas are accepted, an expected sentencing date has been set for April 24, 2026, at Swindon Crown Court.
The 20-year-old will continue to be remanded in custody until that time.
