MAN JAILED AFTER SUBJECTING GIRLFRIEND TO 18 MONTHS OF ABUSE
A manipulative abuser has been jailed four and a half years in prison after subjecting his victim to a year and a half of abusive behaviour.
Tracy Hercules, aged 27 and without a fixed address, came under police investigation following an incident that resulted in his victim needing hospital treatment on October 28, 2024.
The incident was triggered when the victim asked Hercules to leave her home in Radford as she was preparing to go out.
An argument ensued, during which Hercules strangled her and refused to vacate the property.
The controlling and coercive actions of Hercules persisted over an 18-month period, from July 2023 until November 2024.
His abusive actions included threatening to take his own life while placing blame on her, damaging her belongings, repeatedly calling and messaging her and her family members, and threatening to release private images of her.
Hercules faced trial at Nottingham Crown Court on November 20, where he received a sentence of four and a half years’ imprisonment.
Additionally, he will serve two years on license after his release, following his conviction for controlling and coercive behaviour, deliberate strangulation, and false imprisonment.
