A man has received a nine-year prison sentence after being convicted of raping two women he encountered online.
Tony Heath, aged 28 and from Avonmouth, was found guilty of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, with the ruling issued at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, October 8.
The jury returned a conviction for Heath on September 26.
He had met both women through social media platforms Tinder and Snapchat and subsequently assaulted them at his residence.
The first victim, whom Heath contacted via Tinder, was invited to his home after a few days.
There, he sexually assaulted her and raped her.
She managed to escape by kicking him off before he could do more harm.
Heath then reached out to his second victim through Snapchat.
After exchanging messages for several hours, he invited her over to watch a film, which she agreed to.
He later raped her during that visit.
Both women, in their late teens or early twenties at the time of the attacks, received support from authorities during the investigation and trial process, and were directed towards victim support services.
