TOMMY HITT OF STOKE-ON-TRENT SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL 10-HOUR ATTACK AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

A woman has courageously come forward to recount her harrowing ordeal at the hands of Tommy Hitt, a 46-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, who subjected her to a relentless and violent 10-hour assault. The victim, whose identity she has chosen to keep private, described being held against her will at Hitt's residence, where she endured a series of brutal attacks that left her with severe injuries and lasting trauma.

According to court reports, Hitt inflicted multiple injuries on her face, eyes, teeth, and arm during the assault. The violence was not only physical but also terrifying, as he repeatedly assaulted her, strangling her to the point of causing a fractured eye socket and extensive bruising across her body. The assault also resulted in permanent damage to her retinas, highlighting the severity of her injuries. Throughout this ordeal, Hitt also sexually assaulted her twice within the span of just ten hours, adding a deeply disturbing layer to his crimes. During the attack, he threatened her life, telling her she would die that night and instructing her to call her mother to say her goodbyes, further emphasizing the level of danger she was in.

In addition to the physical and sexual violence, Hitt forcibly shaved her hair and drove her to various locations while continuing to assault her. The victim managed to find an opportunity to escape from her captor and subsequently contacted law enforcement authorities. Her bravery in reporting the incident played a crucial role in bringing Hitt to justice.

Hitt pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including intentional strangulation, false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm with intent, sexual assault, threats to kill, and assault causing actual bodily harm. His sentencing resulted in a prison term of 21 years and six months. The court also ordered him to pay a surcharge of £228 and imposed a restraining order to prevent any further contact with the victim.

The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, expressed her hope that sharing her injuries and experience will encourage other victims of abuse to seek support and speak out. Detective Constable James Gatherum praised her bravery, emphasizing the importance of victims coming forward to help ensure justice is served and offenders are held accountable.
