TIMOTHY FAWLK SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN GLOUCESTER FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST WOMEN
Five women have been commended for their bravery after their testimonies contributed to securing a conviction against Timothy Fawlk, 54, of Park End Road, Gloucester.Fawlk was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sex offences committed between 1988 and 2018.
One of the women expressed relief, stating she now felt able to move on from her ordeal.
These women provided evidence at Cirencester Nightingale Court, where Fawlk faced 23 counts of rape and sexual abuse, all of which he denied.
They praised the support they received, encouraging other victims to come forward.
One woman shared, "Finally I can put behind me what I've been carrying around for many years.
It's never too late to come forward.
The support from the police and GRASAC (Gloucestershire's Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre) has been amazing." Another added, "I now feel I have closure on that part of my life," and urged others to report abuse without fear, saying, "I would encourage any victim of this kind of crime to never worry about telling police." Gloucestershire Police Detective Constable Peter Rowsell commended the victims’ conduct, noting that they had shown great dignity throughout the trial, despite Fawlk's lack of remorse.
"I would like to commend the bravery and the courage of the victims.
They disclosed the most horrendous sexual abuse," he commented.
Judge James Townsend sentenced Fawlk at Gloucester Crown Court on Thursday, extending his term by an additional five years on parole.
Additionally, the court imposed an indefinite restraining order that prohibits Fawlk from contacting his victims and ordered him to register as a sex offender for life.
