STAINES-UPON-THAMES STALKER JAILED FOR 22 MONTHS
Thomas Goldswain, aged 36, was taken into custody after a woman reported that he assaulted her and repeatedly sent her unwanted messages and gifts.Goldswain, whose address is Wendover Road in Staines-upon-Thames, was found guilty in June but did not attend his scheduled sentencing.
He was later detained in Scotland and received a 22-month prison sentence at Guildford Crown Court on Monday.
The court found him guilty of three charges of actual bodily harm and one count of stalking that caused significant alarm or distress.
Sgt Joshua Brooker, the officer who led the investigation, commented: "Goldswain demonstrated violent, controlling and obsessive behaviour towards his victim and his imprisonment is a relief for Surrey residents and beyond."
