“HE CARVED HIS NAME INTO MY SKIN”: Young Woman Speaks Out After Years of Alleged Abuse, Threats and Court Battles A 20-year-old woman has bravely spoken out about the years of abuse she says she suffered at the hands of an older ex-partner — a terrifying ordeal that led to criminal convictions, multiple court hearings, and an ongoing police investigation.

The survivor, who has asked to remain anonymous, says she first met the man when she was just 17 years old, while he was reportedly around 20.

What began as a relationship quickly spiralled into what she describes as a nightmare of physical violence, emotional abuse, threats, and coercive control.

“He would hit and punch me like it was normal,” she said.

“But the psychological abuse was just as bad.” According to her account, the man repeatedly threatened to kill himself, her, and even members of her family.

In one chilling alleged threat, he reportedly told her that if she ever left him, he would “find her alone, stab her, bury her down the dene, and set her family home on fire with everyone inside.” Despite fearing for her life, she says leaving the relationship was far from easy.

“I was terrified of him,” she explained.

The most shocking incident allegedly occurred after he convinced her to meet him, promising he had changed.

Believing his claims, she went to his home — a decision she says almost cost her everything.

That night, she alleges she was drugged, becoming disoriented and drifting in and out of consciousness.

As she became weaker, she claims he removed her clothing and told her she “only belonged to him.” She then alleges he held a pocket knife to her throat, threatening to slit it open before moving the blade down to her thigh, where he carved his name into her skin, repeatedly cutting over the same wounds to ensure permanent scarring.

“He wanted it to scar,” she said.

She later woke up on the other side of the bed covered in blood.

Because she had been unconscious, she says she has never been able to confirm whether further sexual offences took place.

Following the incident, she contacted police and ended the relationship.

But the abuse, she says, didn’t stop there.

The man allegedly continued to turn up outside her home, follow her to college, and harass her online — including sending messages encouraging her to take her own life.

He was later found guilty of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, though other allegations could not proceed due to lack of evidence.

More recently, he was found guilty again after breaching a restraining order, with the case concluding in court last week.

Yet despite the conviction, the woman says the ordeal is still ongoing.

“He still won’t leave me alone,” she said.

“There’s another case now because the harassment hasn’t stopped.” In a disturbing twist, she says multiple former partners have since contacted her claiming they too suffered abuse at his hands.

One former partner was reportedly just 17 years old at the time.

The young woman says she is speaking out now not only to tell her story, but to encourage others experiencing abuse to seek help.

“This doesn’t just happen to other people,” she said.

“It can happen to anyone — and it’s never as easy as ‘just leave.’”
