INVERGORDON MAN FACES JAIL OVER 'GRAVE' CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
Thomas Baird, a 30-year-old man from Ness Gardens, Invergordon, faces serious legal consequences after being involved in grave sexual offences against a teenage boy.The court heard that Baird engaged in grooming and sexual activity with a boy under 16 between December 2018 and January 2020.
He encouraged the boy to view explicit images of both men and women, claiming it was 'normal' to receive such content.
Baird also added the child to a Snapchat group where explicit content was shared and pressured him to send images of himself, including images of his private parts, to the group.
Additionally, Baird sat with the boy under a blanket and touched his private parts over his clothing, prompting the boy to describe his actions as 'disgusting'.
The incident was uncovered when the boy's mother found out and reported her concerns to authorities.
Baird was admitted to full-time employment but has been warned that the charges are 'grave' and could result in a custodial sentence of significant length once the court defers sentencing for further reports.
