CONTROLLING MAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY AFTER USING POKEMON GO
A man named Theo Waldron, who is described as controlling and was found to have violated his bail conditions by making contact with a woman using the Pokemon Go application, has been committed to the crown court.Waldron, aged 36, admitted guilt to a charge of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour during a magistrates' court hearing in Kidderminster in October.
Prosecutor Mark Hambling outlined that Waldron repeatedly or continuously engaged in controlling and coercive conduct, knowing or being aware that his behaviour could have serious consequences for a woman residing in Ross-on-Wye, during the period from November 1, 2022, to October 3, 2023.
His conduct involved manipulating her social life, internet activity, and social media, as well as claiming he could track her whereabouts.
Additional allegations included assaulting her, making threats of violence against her and others, pressuring her concerning her employment and travel routines, attempting to isolate her from friends and family, and making contact through the Pokemon Go game while he was on police bail.
The case has been forwarded to Worcester Crown Court for sentencing, with Waldron, who resides at The Meads, Hildersley, currently in custody.
His sentencing is scheduled for November 10.
