A teenager who strangled and stabbed his girlfriend has been detained for a year.Taylor Moore, 19, admitted to police that he had "belted" the woman all over and threatened to set a dog on them as they tried to get into his house in Newcastle. The incident occurred at his home on Dovecrest Court in Wallsend during a domestic incident on 2 December. When police arrived, Moore was at an upstairs window shouting at someone, while his partner had barricaded herself in a bathroom. He shouted at the officers that they would "need more people" to arrest him and threatened to unleashed a dog on them.Officers entered and arrested him; Moore told them he had "belted her all over". His partner was in shock, crying, with visible fresh injuries after Moore punched, kicked, bit her, strangled her, and stabbed her in the hand and thigh with a knife. During transport to the police station, after shouting abuse at officers, Moore asked them to apologize to his victim.Moore, a father of two, pleaded guilty to charges of intentional strangulation and assault causing actual bodily harm. Recorder Ian Mullarkey remarked that the attack "must have been terrifying" for the victim, highlighting the severity of Moore's actions.
