BRITISH RAPIST SENTENCED TO OVER SIX YEARS FOR ASSAULTING DRUNKEN VICTIM
A man named Taylor Diba, aged 23, was sentenced to six years and four months in prison for raping a 19-year-old woman who was highly intoxicated.
The attack occurred in Prestwick, Ayrshire, in 2013, where Diba entered a bedroom where the woman had been with a friend and attacked her despite her pleas to stop.
The victim testified during the trial that she was trying to free herself and was telling him to let her go.
Although Diba denied the rape, he was convicted in Edinburgh's High Court.
The judge, Lord Uist, sentenced him to five years for the rape and 16 months for not attending a prior hearing.
The judge stated that Diba had raped 'an extremely drunken woman,' left her very distressed and showed no remorse.
It was also noted that Diba, who entered Britain illegally from South Africa, would be deported after serving his sentence.
