A MAN faces trial after denying allegedly downloading child abuse images at his home in Prestwick.
The 52-year-old, Barry John Sommerville, pleaded not guilty to two charges when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.
The first charge alleges that he took, permitted to be taken, or made indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between November 22, 2017, and February 29, 2024.
The second charge claims he possessed these images at his address in Clune Drive, Prestwick, during the same period.
The Procurator Fiscal depute informed the court that the Crown was ready for trial, estimating that it would take two to three days.
Bail was continued for Sommerville during the pre-trial hearing on Wednesday, November 5, with the case scheduled to resume next year.
