A man aged 27, named Tariq Khan and living in Manningham, West Yorkshire, was found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife, Nadia Khan, by stabbing her multiple times at their former family residence on Holker Street, Manningham.
The tragic event led to the death of Nadia, who was 24 years old, along with their unborn child.
Khan was detained in June following the attack and later confessed to the act of stabbing his wife to death.
In court, Judge Roger Thomas QC remarked that Khan's actions demonstrated an intention not just to punish his wife but also to deliberately harm her unborn baby.
Khan received a life sentence with a minimum term of 25 years.
Nadia’s family issued a statement expressing their profound grief and outrage, stating that the crime has caused them significant emotional pain and insisting that Khan should spend the rest of his life incarcerated.
