The investigation into the 25-year-old began on September 17, 2024, when officers from the Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT) executed a Section 8 warrant at his home relating to offenses involving the possession, creation, and sharing of indecent images of children.
During his arrest, Ahmed claimed that he had received the illicit images from another individual but stated that he had deleted them.
A search of his property resulted in the seizure of two mobile phones.
While in custody, Ahmed was questioned about his possession and distribution of indecent images but responded with “no comment” to all questions.
He was subsequently released on conditional bail while his devices underwent forensic analysis.
Digital examinations revealed the presence of images classified as Category A, B, and C indecent images of children.
Further investigation uncovered that Ahmed had engaged in sexual communication with a minor, requesting explicit images from her and sending her sexual images of himself.
In February 2025, Ahmed was re-arrested and interviewed again regarding his interactions with the teenager.
Once more, he answered “no comment” to all questions.
Forensic analysis confirmed that Ahmed had communicated with the minor through various social media and messaging apps over a period of more than three years, from June 2021 until his arrest in September 2024.
