WEMBLEY MAN SURESH VARSANI CAUGHT IN SHOCKING ONLINE PAEDOPHILE PLOT IN LONDON

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, Suresh Varsani, a married man residing in Wembley, was apprehended after a covert operation by self-styled paedophile hunters. The incident unfolded in November 2017, revealing a disturbing pattern of online predatory behavior that culminated in Varsani being caught red-handed.

Varsani, who was in the UK on a visa and had moved to the country four years prior, was targeted by the group known as 'Paedo Hunters 24/7'. This group set up fake online profiles, pretending to be underage girls, in an effort to lure and catch individuals engaging in illegal activities. The court heard that Varsani believed he was communicating with two girls aged 12 and 14, but in reality, he was interacting with members of the vigilant group.

According to court proceedings, Varsani engaged in explicit conversations, sending graphic images of himself, including photographs of his erect penis, and adult pornography. Prosecutor Samantha Cohen detailed that Varsani initiated contact with what he believed were underage girls, instructing them on how to digitally penetrate themselves and sending them explicit instructions. He also sent photographs he had taken himself, which included images of his own genitalia, and discussed sexual acts.

The court was told that between August 21 and September 2 of that year, Varsani believed he was communicating with a 12-year-old girl. However, this was a member of the 'Paedo Hunters 24/7' group, who became increasingly concerned about the nature of the conversations. The group members, concerned for their safety and the safety of others, decided to confront Varsani.

On September 9, the group traveled to London and arranged to meet him. During the encounter, they found Varsani in a changing room, with his phone in hand, and he was engaged in chat, believing he was still talking to the young girl. The group approached him, and he was caught in the act, with the court describing how he was in the changing room with an erection and openly sharing explicit details.

Police were called immediately, and Varsani was arrested on the same day. He was taken into custody and subsequently gave a 'no comment' interview. The court heard that he required a Gujarati interpreter during proceedings. It was also revealed that Varsani's actions were part of what the judge described as 'classic grooming behavior.'

Further investigations uncovered that Varsani had created a profile on a platform called 'Keeping Kids Safe,' where he quickly initiated contact by asking, 'Do you like sex?' and sending explicit images of adults engaged in sexual acts. He also sent a blurred photograph of himself and asked the fictitious girl to delete it to avoid detection by her mother.

Judge Dean, presiding over the case at Harrow Crown Court, described Varsani as 'obsessed' and 'out of control.' She emphasized the rapid escalation of his behavior, noting that he instructed the fake children on how to digitally perform sexual acts, with the intent of receiving videos in return. The judge pointed out that although Varsani did not attempt to meet the girls in person, his actions could have caused severe, long-lasting harm if the victims had been real.

In sentencing, Varsani was handed a total prison term of three years and four months. He was convicted on six counts, including attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity, attempting to cause a child to watch a sex act, and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. The court also ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offender Register for life, pay a victim surcharge, and be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order upon release, unless he is deported. His address was listed as Wembley, Harrow Road.

Varsani had previously pleaded guilty to all charges on October 16 at Harrow Crown Court, marking a significant victory for law enforcement and community safety efforts against online child exploitation.
