On 23 August 2021, Shahzad Noor from Wembley was taken into custody and later appeared at the Central Criminal Court, where he was convicted on 15 January 2024.
The verdict found him guilty of attempting to encourage a girl aged 13 to 15 to take part in sexual activities without penetration, as outlined under section 1(1) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981.
The court handed down a sentence of 18 months imprisonment, suspended for an equal period, along with several court-imposed conditions.
He is mandated to undertake up to 30 days of rehabilitation activities and perform 150 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Noor is also required to register with law enforcement under the Sexual Offences Act for a decade and pay £500 in costs plus a £156 surcharge to fund victim support services.
A sexual harm prevention order has been enforced for ten years.
The restrictions placed upon him prevent the use of any computers or devices capable of internet access, particularly banning him from deleting browsing history or interfering with any installed risk management software.
He is also barred from using social media, dating platforms, instant messaging apps, or any form of unsupervised contact with persons under 18, directly or indirectly.
These measures aim to prevent further offenses and ensure ongoing monitoring during the ten-year period.
