VILE & EVIL MAN JAILED FOR 12 YEARS FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A PREGNANT WOMAN AND GIVING HER MEDICATION TO CAUSE A MISCARRIAGE
A man was sentenced to 12 years behind bars after being convicted of sexually assaulting a pregnant woman and giving her medication to trigger a miscarriage.Prosecutors detailed how Stuart Worby mixed drugs into a glass of orange juice during an encounter he claimed was "kinky sex" while the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was blindfolded.
She later suffered a miscarriage in hospital shortly afterward.
The 40-year-old, from Malthouse Court in Dereham, Norfolk, faced charges of two counts of sexual assault and a charge of administering poison or using an instrument with the intent of causing a miscarriage.
During the sentencing at Norwich Crown Court, Judge Joel Brennathan highlighted the dangerous nature of Worby’s actions, remarking, "You must have been aware that this was risky for her." He discussed how the victim suffered both betrayal and emotional pain, and how Worby potentially deprived her of her only chance to become a mother.
The court described him as a "selfish man." It was revealed in court that the victim was poisoned with two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol, commonly used to induce early pregnancy terminations.
These medications are typically given a day apart and can be administered at home or in clinics.
Worby administered crushed mifepristone with her orange juice, and the following day, while she was blindfolded, he gave her misoprostol, claiming it was part of "kinky sex".
The woman’s pregnancy, at around 15 weeks, ended the day after.
In her victim impact statement, she shared that she has since met a new partner but remains unable to conceive again, lamenting, "The only baby I could have had was the one I lost." Worby arranged for Neuza Cepeda to pose as a woman seeking an abortion.
After a phone consultation with a London clinic, she was sent the medication, highlighting the ease of obtaining abortion drugs through remote consultations.
Cepeda, aged 39 from Dereham, admitted to involvement in supplying or procuring an instrument to induce a miscarriage.
She received a suspended sentence of 22 months, with the judge stating her remorse and the role she played in enabling Worby’s actions.
Her partner, Wayne Finney, 41, from Swaffham, was accused of encouraging or assisting Cepeda but was cleared by the jury.
The victim continues to have an indefinite restraining order against Worby.
Detective Duncan Woodhams of Norfolk Police commended the victim’s bravery, describing the case as one of the most disturbing he has investigated, acknowledging its significant physical and mental toll.
