DALMELLINGTON MAN RECEIVES COMMUNITY ORDER FOR HOLIDAY ASSAULT IN LAPLAND
A PATNA man left his partner badly hurt after attacking her during a holiday in Lapland – with a five-year-old boy watching on.Stuart Strachan, 50, appeared in court last week after admitting assaulting the woman in Veve Log Cabins in Lapland, Finland between January 22 and 23 this year.
He repeatedly punched the woman on the head and body to her severe injury in front of the child.
The Crown’s indictment states the offence was aggravated because it involved abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
At Ayr Sheriff Court (right), Strachan, of Chapel Row, Dalmellington Road, was put on a community payback order with 12 months of social work supervision.
He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work.
