STUART JOHNSON OF SUTTON COLDFIELD SENTENCED TO INDEFINITE JAIL FOR PREDATORY BEHAVIOR TOWARD TEEN GIRLS

In a case that has shocked the community of Sutton Coldfield, Stuart Johnson, aged 43, of Badgers Bank Road, Four Oaks, was handed an indefinite prison sentence after being convicted of engaging in a series of disturbing and manipulative acts involving two teenage girls, both aged 14 at the time. The court heard that Johnson's actions were not only predatory but also involved a complex web of grooming, deception, and abuse that culminated in a sexual relationship with the minors.

During the proceedings at Coventry Crown Court, it was revealed that Johnson's misconduct extended beyond the initial abuse. He married one of his victims, a girl who later became pregnant. The court was informed that she gave birth just two weeks after her 16th birthday, highlighting the severity and duration of the inappropriate relationship. The case was particularly alarming due to the fact that Johnson used manipulative tactics, including flattery, to exploit the vulnerabilities of the teenagers, both of whom were experiencing difficulties at home. These tactics appeared to have created an infatuation in the girls, making them more susceptible to his influence.

The criminal activities came to light in June 2005 when the parents of Johnson’s second victim contacted the police, raising concerns about their daughter’s wellbeing and the nature of her relationship with Johnson. The subsequent trial, held in June, resulted in Johnson being found guilty of eight counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and one count of meeting a child for the purpose of grooming. Additionally, he was convicted of supplying cannabis to the girls, further illustrating his pattern of misconduct. Prior to the trial, Johnson had admitted to charges of blackmail and perverting the course of justice, which added to the gravity of his offenses.

Judge Peter Ross, presiding over the case, described Johnson’s relationships with the girls as “appalling” and “sinister,” emphasizing the malicious intent behind his actions. As part of his sentence, Johnson was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and is now prohibited from being alone in the company of children under the age of 16.
