STUART GORDON FROM WELLWOOD SENTENCED FOR CHILD ASSAULT AND ABUSE IN CROSSGATES
A man from Wellwood, identified as Stuart Gordon, has been formally convicted and sentenced for a series of serious criminal offenses involving the abuse and assault of young children and women in the Crossgates area. The conviction follows a detailed trial held at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where the full extent of his misconduct was brought to light. On August 24, 2020, at Hillview Place in Crossgates, Gordon committed a disturbing act of assault against a four-year-old girl. According to court records, he forcibly seized her by the body and pulled her off a bed, an action that resulted in her hitting her head and sustaining an injury. This incident was part of a broader pattern of abusive behavior that spanned over several years.
Between July 1, 2019, and March 31, 2022, Gordon engaged in multiple instances of abusive conduct towards three females at Hillview Place and other locations. Witnesses and evidence presented during the trial detailed how he behaved aggressively, shouting and swearing at the victims, and making offensive comments that caused emotional distress. One particularly troubling incident involved him locking one of the women outside her home, and on another occasion, forcing her to shower with the bathroom window open, further demonstrating his controlling and abusive tendencies.
In addition to physical and emotional abuse, Gordon also targeted a teenage girl, then aged 16, with repeated sexual communications between June 1 and August 31, 2020. Court documents reveal that he made inappropriate remarks about a parcel she received and her clothing, despite her clear lack of consent. These actions constitute serious sexual misconduct and harassment.
Further acts of aggression and offensive behavior were documented between March 30 and April 3, 2022, at Main Street and Hillview Place in Crossgates. During this period, Gordon shouted, swore, and made offensive gestures towards others, displaying a pattern of violent and disrespectful conduct. Additionally, between April 1 and May 31, 2022, he physically assaulted a one-year-old boy by striking him in the body, an act that drew significant concern from the court.
Gordon’s aggressive behavior was not limited to these incidents. On June 18, 2021, at Hillview Place, he was observed acting aggressively towards a male, shouting, swearing, and making offensive remarks, further illustrating his pattern of violent and disruptive conduct.
In response to these serious offenses, Sheriff Allan Findlay imposed a community payback order requiring Gordon to undergo two years of supervision and participate in the Caledonian Programme, aimed at addressing behavioral issues. Additionally, four non-harassment orders were issued to protect the victims from further contact or intimidation, emphasizing the court’s commitment to safeguarding those affected by his actions.
