STUART BAILEY PONTYPRIDD SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT IN HORRIFIC PLOT INVOLVING PONTYPRIDD MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Pontypridd, a man named Stuart Bailey has been convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual exploitation of a young girl and conspiracy to commit sexual assault. The case, which unfolded in Cardiff Crown Court, revealed a series of depraved actions carried out by Bailey and a mother from Pontypridd, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in a plot to sexually abuse her seven-year-old daughter.According to court proceedings, the mother and Bailey engaged in a disturbing exchange of messages, including dozens of text conversations that detailed their plans for the assault. The mother, who was described as vulnerable and gullible by the judge, had also sent Bailey a naked photograph of her young daughter and purchased sleeping pills with the intent to drug the child. The court heard that the mother later posed her daughter naked in the bath, exposing her genitals in photographs intended to be sent to Bailey. Another image showed the girl dressed in her school uniform with her underwear exposed. These actions underscored the severity of the conspiracy and the disturbing nature of their intentions.
Bailey, a 54-year-old resident of Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd, was found guilty of multiple charges, including conspiracy to rape a girl under 13, encouraging the distribution of indecent photographs of a child, and encouraging the sexual assault of a child. The court also learned that Bailey had a pattern of contacting women through the dating website Plenty Of Fish, where he quickly shifted conversations towards perverted and unlawful sexual activities, often encouraging women to engage in acts involving children. The judge, Recorder of Cardiff Eleri Rees QC, described Bailey as “prolific” in his contacts and noted that a pattern emerged where discussions would escalate unless interrupted.
The investigation into the case began in June of the previous year when the mother’s partner discovered the incriminating messages on her phone. Outraged and disgusted, he reported her to the authorities, which led to her arrest. Further inquiries uncovered that Bailey was engaging in similar conversations with other women, revealing a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.
During the trial, the mother admitted to distributing five indecent images of her child and acknowledged her role in the conspiracy. She and Bailey both claimed that they never intended to carry out the acts discussed, but the evidence presented painted a different picture. The mother asked Bailey what she would gain from the plan, to which he responded with figures ranging from £200 to £300. The pair had planned to carry out the assault during the Whitsun school holiday, discussing the possibility of drugging the girl with melatonin, despite medical advice against its use for children. The mother admitted to trying the drug herself a week before the planned attack.
Both defendants were subjected to sexual harm prevention orders and additional licensing conditions, with the court sentencing them to a further year of supervised release. The case has left the community of Pontypridd deeply disturbed, highlighting the importance of vigilance and swift action in protecting vulnerable children from such predatory individuals.
