MAN GUILTY OF DOWNLOADING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS TWO
A 21-year-old man from Pontypridd has admitted to downloading explicit photographs of children as young as two years old.Ieuan Davies, residing in Church Village, was responsible for accessing hundreds of such images.
During proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court, it was revealed that he also contacted another offender via messages, requesting them to send images, and asking, "Send me your youngest first...
Do you like really young?" Police officers detained Davies at his residence on 14 February 2022 after confiscating two mobile phones.
He had provided passcodes for these devices and had a secure digital storage space — often called a 'vault' — which contained the illegal images.
Authorities found 55 images classified as Category A — the most severe category — along with 43 in Category B and 138 in Category C.
Additionally, Davies had downloaded a highly graphic image depicting a person engaging in sexual acts with an animal.
He admitted to possessing such images.
His criminal record consisted solely of a previous conviction for drink-driving.
The court sentenced him to eight months in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid community work and to attend a 30-day rehabilitation program.
Furthermore, Davies will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for a period of five years.
