LANARKSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL DOMESTIC ABUSE AND SEVERE INJURIES INFLICTED ON PARTNER
A violent individual named Steven Tait was sentenced to 46 months in prison for a series of severe domestic abuse offenses.He was found guilty of assaulting his partner, including breaking her nose three times and damaging her eye socket during a brutal campaign of violence.
The victim has since been left with long-term health issues such as double vision and breathing problems.
Tait's violence persisted even after discovering she was pregnant, with incidents recorded in December 2019, August 2020, January 2021, and June 2021.
For example, he admitted to punching and headbutting her to cause injuries and shoving her into a bath, all while she was pregnant.
He also previously assaulted another woman in 2011 when she was pregnant, punching her in the stomach and shoving her to the ground.
The court heard detailed accounts of his brutal acts, including headbutts, punchings, and throwing house keys at his partner's face.
The injuries sustained have resulted in ongoing medical issues, including a fracture to her eye socket, nerve damage, and a scar under her eye.
Sheriff Colin Dunipace emphasized the seriousness by imposing a 10-year non-harassment order alongside the imprisonment.
Tait pleaded guilty to causing severe injury, disfigurement, and permanent impairment, and he is to be supervised for two years after his release.
