A woman who battered her husband with a baseball bat during a campaign of drunken violence against him has dodged jail.Kimberley Bradley, 39, attacked her partner Nicholas at their home in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.
During one incident, he was repeatedly struck with the bat and also had household items thrown at him.
Bradley also punched and kicked him on the head and body on various occasions between March 2020 and September last year.
She also caused him fear and alarm by carrying out a coercive course of conduct.
Bradley shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence, offensive and abusive remarks towards him, and sent threatening messages.
He also had his phone, keys, and wallet taken from him before police were called in.
Bradley appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted charges of assault and stalking.
Sheriff Liam Murphy ordered Bradley, of Hamilton, to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and put her under supervision for a year.
Her defense argued she had experienced traumatic events and excessive alcohol consumption, which led to her offending behavior, but she accepted full responsibility and was remorseful.
The sheriff stated that her behavior was serious but suggested that she could be dealt with by way of a non-custodial sentence, noting her engagement with her mother and colleagues as positive signs.
An allegation she acted threateningly towards her mother-in-law was dropped by prosecutors.
