PRESTATYN MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND HARASSMENT OF EX-GIRLFRIEND
A man from Prestatyn named Steven Roberts has received a three-year prison sentence following a series of stalking and harassment incidents directed at his former partner, Claire Roberts. The 50-year-old had previously been incarcerated and given a five-year restraining order due to his earlier stalking behaviors.
Nevertheless, he persisted in making persistent contact, including over 400 calls made between January 9 and 14, 2025, many from a concealed identity, along with sending multiple text messages.
On January 13 and 14, he was seen on her driveway, shouting and throwing stones at her bedroom window.
Police responded to these episodes, and Roberts was re-arrested on January 22.
During a search of his residence, officers found a small quantity of cannabis.
While in custody, Roberts purchased and sent greeting cards to Ms.
Roberts from a prison shop—an act that further intimidated her and heightened her fears for safety.
Court proceedings revealed that Roberts has a history of 23 convictions across 60 offenses.
Judge Timothy Petts highlighted that Roberts had disobeyed court orders and described his behavior as unacceptable.
A renewed restraining order protecting Ms.
Roberts will now be in effect for ten years.
Authorities condemned Roberts’ actions, stressing the emotional impact on her, and the police encouraged victims of harassment to come forward and report such offenses.
The court took into account Roberts’s plea, along with his past convictions and current conduct, leading to a custodial sentence aimed at preventing further harassment of the victim.
