STEVE DODD FROM TELFORD JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACKS IN TELFORD AND STOKE-ON-TRENT
A man identified as Steven Dodd has been sentenced to prison following his admission to committing two violent assaults on a woman in the Telford area. The incidents, which involved serious allegations of sexual assault and physical violence, took place in August 2021 and again in March of the following year, causing significant distress and trauma to the victim.Steven Dodd, a 38-year-old resident of Ketley Park Road in Telford, appeared before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on November 9. During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including sexual assault on a female, common assault, and causing actual bodily harm. His guilty plea came after a thorough investigation by police authorities, which highlighted the severity of his actions.
The court sentenced Dodd to a term of three years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his offenses. The case drew attention not only because of the nature of the crimes but also due to the courage demonstrated by the victim throughout the legal process. Law enforcement officials expressed their appreciation for her bravery and resilience in coming forward to report the incidents.
Detective Constable Izzy Broxton of West Mercia Police publicly commended the victim’s strength, stating, "First and foremost, the bravery and courage that the victim showed throughout this investigation was astounding. Thank you to the victim and the various other individuals involved in supporting her, which in turn has allowed us to seek some form of justice."
Broxton emphasized the police’s commitment to supporting victims of sexual assault, reaffirming that all reports are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
