In a tragic and disturbing incident that has left the community of Telford in shock, Robert Orrey, a 31-year-old man, was sentenced to a hospital order after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of his mother, Claire Orrey, and the attempted murder of his father, Stephen Orrey.The assault took place at their family home located on Burnell Road in the suburb of Admaston, Telford, on the 30th of July last year.
According to reports from West Mercia Police, the attack was carried out during a severe mental health episode experienced by Orrey at the time. The violence was brutal and sudden, with Claire Orrey, a dedicated nurse, suffering fatal injuries when she was struck with a hammer.
