NORTHERN IRELAND PAEDOPHILE LOLLIPOP MAN ADMITS CHILD SEX IMAGES
Steve Carter, a former award-winning patrol man, has admitted to possessing a large collection of child sex images.Despite being highly regarded in his community and previously awarded Northern Ireland Lollipop Person of the Year in 2019, his reputation has been shattered.
He was arrested after a teenager discovered a hidden camera inside a can of body-spray in a shower room, leading to a seizure of his electronic devices.
Forensic analysis revealed he had purchased the hidden camera online and stored indecent images of children dating back to October 2021.
Carter, who worked for over ten years at St Mary’s on the Hill in Newtownabbey, was granted ongoing bail and is expected to be sentenced in November after probation and psychological reports are completed.
His crimes, which do not relate to his work at the school, have caused outrage among parents and the local community.
He previously spoke publicly about losing his wife during childbirth and raising four children alone.
The school has since been left without a crossing patrol man, with other staff covering his duties.
Carter is expected to face a prison sentence for his offences.
