MAN CHARGED WITH DOUBLE RAPE IN NEWTOWNABBEY
Martin Doyle, aged 24, from Fairyknowe Park, Newtownabbey, has been formally charged with the double rape of a 25-year-old woman.The incident reportedly involved the woman, an international student, who was first assaulted in the grounds of Bellevue Zoo last Wednesday.
She was then attacked again in a nearby flat in the early hours of the following day.
Doyle appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court, where Judge Mark Hamill denied a request from Doyle's attorney to keep his address confidential.
Doyle has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on September 26.
