A man described as an 'extremely dangerous' sex offender has been sentenced to prison following a series of sexual crimes.
Stephen Plant was convicted earlier this year of three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault against a woman, after an investigation by Northumbria Police.
The 24-year-old was found to have repeatedly raped and assaulted his victim.
The woman came forward to report the abuse to law enforcement authorities.
Additionally, an inquiry by Durham Constabulary revealed that when Plant was 16, he met a girl in public places multiple times and supplied her with alcohol.
During these encounters, he engaged her in sexual acts, which led to his admitting to four charges of sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15.
This week, Plant, residing in Washington, received a combined sentence of 15 years for all the offenses at Newcastle Crown Court.
