THE COURT HEARD THE MAN WAS JAILED FOR 26 WEEKS AT A SEPARATE COURT HEARING EARLIER THIS YEAR.
In a recent case, an individual was found in possession of computer-generated images involving children in sexual contexts.
Police visited the home of Mark Stedham in February last year as part of a standard review linked to a sexual harm prevention order issued to him in 2017 for creating indecent images.
During the inspection, officers noticed some downloads had been removed from his laptop, prompting his detention for violating the court order.
An inspection of his computer uncovered five digital images portraying children aged five to nine.
The 52-year-old resident of Barmston Centre, Washington, Tyne and Wear, admitted to possessing these forbidden images.
Judge Gavin Doig sentenced him to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with added requirements for rehabilitation due to concerns over his distorted thinking.
It was also reported that earlier this year, he was sentenced to 26 weeks' detention after breaching the court order by deleting material from his device.
After being released, he did not fulfill his sex offender notification obligations, resulting in a community order.
During proceedings, his lawyer Sue Hirst mentioned that Stedham is now engaging positively with probation services.
She noted that thankfully, the images do not involve actual children.
