SIDCUP SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED AFTER BREACHING COURT ORDERS
A Sidcup sex offender, Stephen Lumb, with an extensive criminal history including over 200 prior convictions, has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of violating a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and public intoxication. The article states that Stephen Lumb, aged 66, began his criminal activities in 1976 and was permanently registered as a sex offender in 2009 following a serious sexual assault.
He has repeatedly been incarcerated for various offenses, including public acts such as masturbation at a bus stop in 2021.
Despite the protective measures in place—specifically a 2022 sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) that bans any unsupervised interaction with women or female children except when absolutely necessary—Lumb was found to have approached and spoken to a woman outside Tesco on Station Road in Sidcup while intoxicated on July 1.
On July 3, he admitted guilt before Bexley Magistrates’ Court for breaching the SHPO and for being intoxicated and disorderly in public.
As a result, he received an eight-month prison sentence.
